[Set up your Profile]

How many characters are you made of?
The development of media has increased people’s profound awareness of themselves and, accordingly, changed how we create and experience our identity. ‘Set up your profile’ is a phrase we often encounter at the setup stage of a personal electronic device, SNS account, or game. The profile is symbolized as a tool to express one’s own identity. In addition, the act of ‘setting up’ a profile implies a newly created subjectivity that allows selecting and editing one’s identity. When it comes to me, if I can be described as a producer offline, in online spaces such as on social media, I am a maestro of room escape games; moreover, in a computer game, I am a warrior. Here, the act of hiding and revealing the self alternates. This project demonstrates the ‘flexible self’ of different identities according to different situations. In other words, it mirrors modern people who live in the multi-persona era where they create their sub-characters and ceaselessly update, edit and reset them.
What is your current ‘profile’ at this moment?

A screen is the essential medium that connects the online and offline world. Therefore, the place where generates multi personae the most is a space beyond the screen. The clip of people from the survey are being shown on the screen. We can choose avatars that are visually displayed on the screen. The figure of a stranger and another person standing wearing a mask on multiple screens. Through this, I intend to express the notion that one exists not only in real physical space but also in virtual non-physical space.
What profile would you want to use among these?
